Tasting notes : DARK CHOCOLATE, APRICOT, BUTTER CARAMEL

Here, we love espressos that are round, but capable of bringing out a hint of fruit at the end. This is where the concept of JUICE TOWN comes from, a seasonal coffee, always of Colombian origin. One of Daniel's favorite origins for several reasons, but especially for the versatility that its varieties bring. You can make a very tasty latte as well as a fruity and complex filter, without changing the roasting profile.

Seasonal coffee still means lasting relationships. We work alongside a few different importers, but our primary goal always remains the same: to convey a story above all and to develop relationships that will go far.

ANDRES MUNOZ

Andrés' family hails from Arauca #2, where his parents cultivated various crops like tomatoes, corn, and beans, and raised small animals for food and income. They also had cows and used horses to transport goods to town for 25 years. Although he only completed second grade, Andrés worked hard from a young age, helping with farm chores and later engaging in sugar cane farming. In 2009, at 15, he was given a small plot of land to grow coffee, planting 650 Caturra trees while completing high school. He also worked on neighboring farms during the coffee harvest until the COVID pandemic.

In Sevilla, he met Claudia Erazo, and they decided to start a business together after she became pregnant. They bought a hectare in Nazareth with a bank loan and planted arracacha, tomato, corn, beans, and coffee, despite challenges from the cold climate. Living near the Nazareth plot provided stability, and they later collaborated with his mother-in-law on a coffee crop. By the end of 2020, they bought a new plot from her and aimed to enhance its productivity by planting more coffee trees.

Initially, they sold their coffee to local buyers and became involved with the MonKaaba project through a family connection. This project is their first venture under their own name, and Andrés is eager to learn about quality production processes, feeling grateful for the opportunity provided by MonKaaba.
