"PRENDRE LE TEMPS"
Take the time...we need to remind ourselves of it as often as possible. It isn't always easy, but at KOHI, we believe coffee is a wonderful way to slow down, pause for a moment, and put things into perspective. Whether enjoyed alone or with friends, the time we spend preparing and savoring our coffee gives us the opportunity to take a break and slow the pace of everyday life.
This coffee was released to celebrate our 5th anniversary, but it hadn't yet been made available through our online store. We wanted everyone to have the chance to enjoy this exceptional coffee from Roberto Cheves, which earned 6th place at last year's Guatemala Cup of Excellence.
A MESSAGE FROM THE CHEVES FAMILY
"At Finca La Tormenta, we are first-generation coffee producers who, from the very beginning, have worked with a clear vision: to produce coffees of exceptional quality, with identity and purpose.
Our farm is located at 1,800 meters above sea level in the Sierra de las Minas, adjacent to Defensores de la Naturaleza, one of Guatemala's largest ecological reserves. Of the 29 manzanas that make up the farm, only 8 are planted with coffee. The rest is preserved as protected natural forest. In addition, we have designated 3 caballerías as a private forest reserve, reinforcing our commitment to environmental conservation.
We follow a regenerative agriculture model, applying only sustainable practices that respect and strengthen the ecosystem's balance. For us, true origin coffee cannot exist without caring for its origin.
We specialize in creating distinct, high-precision lots through advanced fermentation processes. Each lot is treated individually: we observe, listen, and work with its unique character. We don't rely on fixed formulas; instead, we design fermentations tailored to each profile, allowing every micro-lot to express its very best.
Our recognition at the 2025 Cup of Excellence validates this commitment to excellence and reflects our vision of what true specialty coffee should represent: a balance between science, nature, and long-term vision."
